Please, Consult with your Extension Educator prior to beginning projects!!! IF YOU ARE NOT SURE IF YOUR HOURS WILL COUNT, CHECK FIRST!*
- Date: Month(s),Day(s),Year
- Activity/Location/Comments/Results: An example might be:Planted a pizza garden with families involved with the Nutrition Connections program in Franklin. Or, At request of Extension Educator, prepared and presented a talk on container gardening to a local garden club. (Note: Simply attending an educational event does not count towards volunteer hours).
- Total Hours: Total time is all of the hours you spent in preparation, the activity and follow-up. Master Gardener Interns need 45 hours during year following training.
Continuing Master Gardeners need 15 hours annually to remain in active status.
- Contacts: This is the number of people you reached through your project. (Ex. Number of people involved in the pizza garden, the number of people at your garden club talk).
*The only activities that count for volunteer hours are those where you are officially representing UNHCE as a Master Gardener. Please work with your Extension Educator to determine if projects count before you start them!
Here's how to complete the form when listing ALL your activities and hours on one report:
For the Project Date section, put the months/year(s) that all your projects covered. (Example October 2006-September 2007)
Feel free to group your projects together in one report. Calculate your total hours and people reached and place those numbers in the Total Hours and Total Number of Contacts boxes at the bottom. These totals are important, so please be sure to complete these sections.
Put all of the details of your various projects in the Activity box.
In the Activity box also note the location by town for each project and type Various on the Location box.
